Kodak Black's legal troubles have taken a turn for the worse.
According toThe Blast, the "Pimpin Ain't Eazy" rapper, who was arrested at Rolling Loud Festival over the weekend, was just slapped with a two-count indictment after a grand jury found he made false statements to try and purchase firearms.
In court documents, obtained by the entertainment news site, Kodak's charges are listed as making a false statement in the acquisition and attempted acquisition of a firearm. In layman's terms, the 21-year-old rapper is being accused of lying on firearm applications in an attempt to buy guns at a Florida store. He allegedly "listed that he wasn’t facing any other serious criminal charges when he went to purchase a gun, without informing the dealer he had a criminal case pending and is also a felon that shouldn’t be purchasing a gun in the first place," The Blast reports.
Kodak remains in police custody and is facing 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. According to TMZ, he is scheduled to see a judge on Wednesday (May 15).
As fans know, the South Florida rapper, who is also facing up to 30 years in prison for an on-going sexually assault case, wasarrested on weapons and drugs charges at the U.S. Borderjust last month. Kodak and three other people were stopped by U.S. Customs Agents when entering the U.S. from Canada on April 17. Customs Agents reportedly found a "Glock 9mm pistol," which was undeclared by anyone in the vehicle, during the stop, as well as marijuana. Kodak was subsequently arrested for felony criminal possession of a weapon and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He was released the next day on a $20,000 cash bond.
A week later,a tour bus parked outside Kodak's Washington D.C. concert was raidedby the FBI and local police. Authorities reportedly confiscated four Glock handguns with magazines and subsequently arrested five people for the offense. The raid ironically went down while Kodak was performing inside the venue. He was not arrested.
