Monterey County Honors 58yr Old Former Farmworker!

These are the types of news I like to see!! This is so amazing. A former farmworker from Salinas is being recognized and honored here in our county of Monterey! Adolfo Gonzalez, 58, has received his degree in Spanish, with honors, at California State University, Monterey Bay with a 3.85 GPA.

Adolfo moved to the Salinas Valley and earned a living harvesting celery for about 18 years. With the support and encouragement from his family, he decided to pursue a higher education. He began by taking classes at Salinas Adult School. He continued his education at a local community college, Hartnell College, and then transferred to CSUMB.

Adolfo hopes to pursue a teaching credential and wants to make a positive contribution within his community. He’s doing so much more than that though! He’s an inspiration for so many people all over the world. His story has caught the attention of many news sources and television programs that are spreading his story. He is now inspiring people from all over the world.

Lots of people have already reached out to the family to let them know that they will too continue their education and have been inspired by Adolfo.

I hope this inspired you to pursue anything that you have been putting off, whether it’s going back to school or just making a simple change to your daily routine that will make your life a little better! :)
