A Las Vegas woman was arrested for practicing medicine out of a converted garage, reported KTNV.

Diana Hernandez, 47, who is also known as Amelia Salcido-Ramirez, used to work as a maid in the area until she hurt her arm a few months ago. That's when she started illegally practicing medicine. She told police she always had an interest in medicine, but didn't actually have any training in the field, nor proper licensing.

She admitted that she knew practicing medicine required licensing, but she had only completed one type of correspondence course from the Red Cross.

According to police, she was injecting hormones and antibiotics into people in the converted garage. Hernandez admitted to selling the hormones and syringes for $20 each.

The converted garage is located in a home on Colbath Street. Inside, police said it contained a bed with a plastic covering, along with white drawers with medication inside.

Business cards were found inside the home that had the term "family doctor" on them. The cards also contained the phrase, "ask for Diana."

Hernandez was booked on charges of acting as a medical practitioner without a license and possession of controlled substances with intent to sell.
