Ariana Grande Gives Gifts To Manchester Children's Hospital Patients

Ariana Grande played Secret Santa this year to patients at a pair of children's hospitals in Manchester, England. According to Manchester Evening News, the pop star surprised hundreds of kids at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary with £100 Amazon gift cards, but didn't say the gifts were from her.

The father of a patient told the outlet his daughter was “absolutely delighted” with the thoughtful gesture, calling the singer “a wonderful human being”.

“She said, ‘look dad, I’ve got a £100 voucher from Ariana Grande,’” he continued. “It was in a little personalised box with no message on it and no note to say who it’s from. It’s such a lovely gesture and there’s no publicity around it so you know it’s genuine."

“It’s brought a lot of joy after everything that’s gone in with the pandemic this year," he added. "It’s been a tough year with my daughter being in hospital. The staff there are great and so hard working.”

Grande became connected with the city when a terrorist detonated a bomb after her concert at Manchester Arena on May 22, 2017, tragically killing 22 people and injuring more than 800. Two weeks later, she staged the "One Love Manchester" benefit and raised over £2 million for families affected by the attack.
